How Keld handles personal data, and the line between data we control and data we only process for our customers.
This Privacy Notice explains how Keld Inc ("Keld", "we", "us") handles personal data. We've split it into the part where Keld decides how data is used (our website, accounts and marketing) and the part where Keld only processes data on a customer's behalf (the content of inference jobs). The distinction matters because it changes who is responsible and what rights apply.
The data controller for the website, account and marketing data described below is:

We serve customers in the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom. We have not appointed a representative under Article 27 GDPR.
Keld is a marketplace for AI inference. Jobs flow from the demand side, through the Keld marketplace, out to a provider on the supply side, where the model runs. This creates two clearly separated kinds of data:
Information about visitors to our website, people who create or use a Keld account, and people we market to. For this data, Keld is the controller, we decide why and how it's used, and this Notice governs it.
The actual content of the jobs our customers send for inference, prompts, inputs, files, and the completions that come back. For this data, Keld is a processor acting only on the documented instructions of the customer, who is the controller. The providers that execute jobs act as our sub-processors. This payload data is governed by the customer's agreement with Keld and our Data Processing Agreement, not by this Notice. Keld operates Zero Data Retention for payloads: prompts and completions are not stored or logged after a job completes.

We collect this directly from you, automatically as you use the site, and occasionally from business sources such as our payment processor.

When a customer sends a job, Keld routes it and a provider runs it. Keld does not decide what that content is or why it's sent, the customer does. So for payload data:
We use a small set of sub-processors to run Keld, including cloud infrastructure, the inference providers that execute jobs, and tools for analytics and communications. The current list, with name, purpose and location, is published at keld.co/subprocessors, where you can also ask to be notified of changes.
Keld is based in the United States and works with providers and vendors in multiple countries, so personal data may be transferred outside the EEA or the UK. Where it is, we use appropriate safeguards:
Keld is not currently certified under the EU-US or UK Data Privacy Framework; transfers rely on the safeguards above.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Inference payloads are not retained after a job runs. Account and billing records are kept for the life of the account and then for the period required by tax and legal rules. Marketing data is kept until you opt out or after a period of inactivity. As a guide, we keep billing and tax records for seven years and inactive marketing contacts for up to 24 months.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict processing, port it, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll verify your request and respond within the time the law allows. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories above (identifiers, commercial, internet activity, professional and approximate geolocation data). We use them for the purposes described and do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. Keld does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, email [email protected]. You may use an authorized agent.

We protect data with encryption in transit, least-privilege access, logging and the control-plane / data-plane separation described in our Trust Center.
Keld is a business product not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
If we change this Notice we'll update the date above and, for material changes, let account holders know.
